Kaprun Ski Resort
Kaprun is a picturesque Alpine village and gateway to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, making it one of the few resorts in Europe offering year-round skiing. Located between Lake Zeller See and the 3,000m Kitzsteinhorn glacier, the setting is unique. In winter, the resort offers 41km of slopes connected to the Schmittenhöhe ski area (additional 77km). Maiskogel mountain (1,675m) is the family mountain with 20km of runs and children's snow parks. In summer, hiking, mountain biking, and glacier adventures are available. Tobogganing, snowshoeing, and horse-drawn sleigh rides offered in winter. The historic 12th-century Kaprun Castle overlooks the village. The ski season runs October through May, with summer glacier skiing available.
