Kandawgyi Lake
Kandawgyi Lake is a colonial-era artificial lake offering the best views of Shwedagon Pagoda reflected in its waters. On its shore stands the Karaweik Palace, a gilded concrete replica of a royal Burmese barge that hosts evening buffet dinners with traditional cultural performances. The surrounding area features walking paths, gardens, and restaurants. The north side is free to access while the southern boardwalk and Karaweik Palace area have entrance fees. At sunset, the golden reflection of Shwedagon in the lake creates one of Yangon's most photographed scenes
