Kaiserpfalz Kaiserswerth
The ruins of Kaiserpfalz Kaiserswerth are among the most important Romanesque monuments in the Lower Rhine region, dating back to the 11th century. The massive palace was built under Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa around 1184. The six-meter thick and 14-meter high western front overlooking the Rhine still testifies to the grandeur of imperial architecture. The site is perfect for walks with stunning river views.
