Jesuit Church
The Jesuit Church is the first large Baroque church built in Switzerland, completed in 1677. Its facade with elegant onion domes is a striking landmark on the banks of the Reuss River. The interior impresses with ceiling frescoes, rich stucco decorations, and an imposing main altar. Dedicated to St. Francis Xavier, the church houses a statue of the saint that is dressed in festive robes on his feast day. Regular concerts are held here thanks to its excellent acoustics.
