Japanese Covered Bridge
The Japanese Covered Bridge is Hoi An's iconic symbol, built in the 17th century by Japanese merchants to connect the Japanese quarter with the Chinese quarter. The bridge features a wooden roof covered with tiles and a small temple inside dedicated to the sea god. The bridge entrances are guarded by monkey and dog statues, believed to symbolize the years of construction according to the Chinese calendar. The bridge is beautifully illuminated at night and is one of Vietnam's most photographed landmarks.
