Jabal al-Nour
Jabal al-Nour, known as the Mountain of Light, is a 642-meter peak located approximately 5 km northeast of Mecca. It houses the Cave of Hira where Prophet Muhammad received the first revelation from Angel Jibreel. The climb is challenging, taking 1-2 hours via rocky steps. The cave is small (4 meters long, 1.75 meters wide) and accommodates limited visitors at a time. The summit offers panoramic views of Mecca. It was here that the first verses of the Quran were revealed, marking the beginning of Islam.
