Igreja do Carmo
Igreja do Carmo is one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in the Algarve. Built in the 18th century, it features an impressive twin-towered facade covered with gold from Brazil. The interior is richly decorated with Baroque talha dourada (gilded woodcarving) and fine religious artwork. Behind the church lies the famous Capela dos Ossos decorated with monks' bones. The church is located in central Faro, a five-minute walk from the marina, making it easily accessible while exploring the city.
