Huaca Pucllana
Huaca Pucllana is an impressive 25-meter-high adobe pyramid located in the heart of modern Miraflores district, offering a unique archaeological experience. Built by the Lima Culture between 200-700 AD, the site was an important administrative and ceremonial center. The distinctive structure made of vertically-packed adobe bricks was remarkably earthquake-resistant, a brilliant engineering technique for its time. Visits are mandatory guided tours (available in Spanish and English) lasting 45-60 minutes, exploring the pyramid, plazas, and workshops. The on-site museum displays artifacts, mummies, and textiles discovered during ongoing excavations. The ruins are illuminated at night, creating a magical spectacle. There's also a renowned restaurant with views over the ruins, perfect for dining after your tour.
