Hofkirche St. Leodegar
The Hofkirche is Lucerne's most important church and one of the finest Renaissance examples in Switzerland. Built between 1633-1639 on the site of a burned Romanesque church, it features imposing twin towers, black marble columns inside, and a magnificent altar. The church houses one of Switzerland's largest organs with 4,950 pipes. The arcades surrounding the church contain graves of old Lucerne families with ornate tombstones.
