Hofburg Imperial Palace
The Hofburg is one of Austria's three most significant cultural buildings alongside Vienna's Hofburg and Schonbrunn Palaces. Originally built around 1460 under Archduke Sigismund, it served as a favorite residence of the Habsburgs. Today it houses five museum areas: Maria Theresa's Rooms from the 18th century, Empress Elisabeth's Apartment from the 19th century, a Furniture Museum, an Ancestral Gallery, and a Painting Gallery.
