Historic Center of Lima - Plaza Mayor
The Plaza Mayor, also known as Plaza de Armas, is Lima's historic heart and its original colonial center founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535. Surrounded by magnificent colonial buildings including the Government Palace, Lima Cathedral, and Archbishop's Palace. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the square showcases a blend of Spanish colonial architecture with a stunning 17th-century bronze fountain at its center.
