Himeji Castle
Himeji Castle, known as 'White Heron Castle' for its elegant white appearance, stands as Japan's largest and best-preserved castle. Registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993, it remains one of only 12 original castles surviving today. The complex comprises 83 buildings with elaborate defensive labyrinths, distinctive white walls, and a six-story main tower. Comprehensive restoration completed in 2015 restored its original splendor. From March 2026, new two-tier pricing applies.
