Hill of Three Crosses
The Hill of Three Crosses is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Vilnius and offers one of the best panoramic views of the Old Town. Three white crosses stand on the hilltop in Kalnai Park, commemorating Franciscan monks martyred by pagans in the 14th century. The current concrete crosses were erected in 1989 after the Soviets destroyed the previous ones in 1950, making their reconstruction a powerful symbol of Lithuanian independence. Illuminated at night and visible from much of the Old Town, they create a striking silhouette against the evening sky. The climb via a wooden boardwalk from Bernardine Garden takes about 15 minutes
