High Court of Australia
The High Court of Australia is the country's highest judicial authority, housed in a striking building that is an outstanding example of late modern Brutalist architecture. The glass-and-concrete structure features bold geometric shapes, light-filled spaces, dynamic internal movement, and strong links with neighboring buildings and landscape. The building houses an impressive art collection and a small exhibition on the history of Australian judicial system. Visitors are welcome to view court proceedings when in session, typically sitting two weeks each month except January and July. Entry is free and the building offers unique architectural and civic interest.
