Hallstatt Market Square
The historic market square of Hallstatt is the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage town. Surrounded by colorful gingerbread-style houses with flower-decked balconies dating back to the 18th century. At the center stands the Holy Trinity Column, donated in 1744 by a local salt-manufacturing couple. The square has been a center of salt trade since the Bronze Age and survived a devastating fire in 1750. Today it features cozy cafes, restaurants, and traditional souvenir shops. Summer brings concerts by the Salinenmusikkapelle, while December transforms it into an enchanting Christmas market. The perfect place to soak in authentic alpine village atmosphere while enjoying views of the lake and surrounding mountains
