faq.title

faq.subtitle Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

Sunrise — most magical time (temple opens at 4:30 AM!). Weekday mornings 8:00-10:00 — fewer tourists. Weekends and holidays very crowded. Sunset also beautiful but temple poorly lit.

Modest clothing: covered shoulders and knees. Comfortable shoes for 108 steps! Can be hot in summer — bring water. No need to remove hat (not a Christian church).

Travel Tips

Useful tips for visiting Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

Arrive at opening (4:30-5:00 AM) for sunrise — unforgettable photos and almost no people. Temple faces east — perfect for sunrise.

After 10 AM on weekends — crowds of tourists, especially tour groups. Avoid Korean holidays (Chuseok, Seollal).

At entrance — street with food and souvenirs. Try hotteok (sweet pancakes) and fish-shaped pastries (bungeoppang).

Combine with Blueline Park Sky Capsule — start with temple at sunrise, then Sky Capsule. Both in Haeundae area.
