Gurten Mountain

Gurten is Bern local mountain, rising 858 meters above the city and offering spectacular panoramic views of the city, the Aare River, and the entire Bernese Alps chain from Eiger to Mont Blanc. The historic Gurtenbahn funicular has been transporting visitors since 1899. The summit features a large park with playgrounds, restaurants, hiking trails, and in winter, a small ski slope - perfect for families.
