Gubyaukgyi Temple
Gubyaukgyi Temple was built in 1113 CE by King Kyanzittha's son and contains the oldest and finest murals in Bagan. The paintings depict scenes from the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata alongside Buddhist Jataka tales. The interior is explored by torchlight to protect the precious wall art. Cameras and flash devices must be left in lockers before entering. The inscriptions on its walls are among the oldest Mon script ever discovered. Located in Myinkaba village near Manuha Temple, it offers an intimate glimpse into the artistic traditions of medieval Bagan
