Grisia Street
Grisia Street is the most famous street in Rovinj, a cobblestone lane climbing from the Balbi Arch on the main square up to St. Euphemia church on the hilltop. Known as the 'atelier under the vault of heaven,' it has transformed into an open-air art gallery with galleries, artist studios, and artisan shops lining both sides. Every August since 1967 it hosts the annual Grisia art exhibition where artists from Croatia and Europe display paintings, sculptures, and ceramics on building walls. The climb is moderately steep on cobblestones and takes five to ten minutes. Most galleries operate from April through October with shorter hours in the off-season.
