Greeting to the Sun
Greeting to the Sun is an innovative solar-powered art installation designed by Nikola Basic located right next to the Sea Organ. It consists of a 22-meter diameter glass circle embedded in the waterfront pavement containing 300 multi-layered glass plates with photovoltaic solar modules. During the day the panels collect sunlight, and from sunset to sunrise they produce a colorful light show representing the movements of the solar system. The installation generates enough energy to power the entire waterfront lighting. It represents the solar system in proportional figures, making it both an artwork and a scientific display. The spot is ideal for photography especially after sunset when the lights come alive against the darkening sky
