Great Mosque of Kairouan
The Great Mosque of Kairouan (Uqba Mosque) is one of the oldest and most important mosques in the Islamic world, founded in 670 CE. Considered the fourth holiest site in Islam after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem. Its 31.5-meter minaret is among the oldest surviving. The mosque features 414 columns of marble, granite, and porphyry.
