Graz Cathedral (Dom)
Graz Cathedral (Grazer Dom), dedicated to Saint Giles (Aegidius), is the Roman Catholic cathedral of the Diocese of Graz-Seckau and the seat of the bishop. Originally built between 1438 and 1462 as the court church for Emperor Frederick III in the Gothic style, it was later modified to Baroque during the 17th and 18th centuries. The interior features stunning chandeliers hanging between columns, a colored marble high altar, and frescoes from the 15th century. Outside, look for the famous painting depicting the three plagues of 1480: locusts, plague, and Turkish invasion. The cathedral is an active place of worship with daily masses.
