Grand Rue
Grand Rue is the main artery of Mont Saint-Michel village, climbing from the main gate (Porte du Roy) through the village to the abbey. This narrow cobblestone passage is lined with 15th-16th century stone buildings converted into souvenir shops, restaurants, and hotels. Here you find the famous omelette from La Mère Poulard (since 1888), traditional butter biscuits, and local handicrafts. The street is very crowded during daytime - dawn and dusk are best for photography.
