God's Window
God's Window is one of South Africa's most famous viewpoints, located at 1,829 meters elevation on the edge of the Drakensberg escarpment. On clear days, views extend up to 100 kilometers across the Lowveld all the way to Kruger National Park. The name reflects the breathtaking vistas that seem like a window to heaven. A short wooden boardwalk leads through a small indigenous rainforest to multiple viewing platforms at different elevations. The highest point offers the most spectacular panoramas. Visiting early morning is recommended before mist forms, especially in summer when clouds develop quickly. The site is part of the Panorama Route, easily combined with Bourke's Luck Potholes and Three Rondavels. Local vendors sell crafts near the entrance.
