Glover Garden
Glover Garden is an open-air museum featuring nine historic Western-style mansions from the Meiji period, situated on a hillside overlooking Nagasaki Harbor. The highlight is the house of Thomas Glover, a Scottish merchant who helped modernize Japan and inspired Puccini's opera Madame Butterfly. The garden offers stunning panoramic views of the harbor and Megami Bridge. Escalators and moving walkways ease the ascent, with free electric wheelchair rental inside the park. Extended evening hours from October 2025 to March 2026 make it perfect for viewing the harbor lights at dusk.
