Gamsutl Ghost Village
Gamsutl, known as the Machu Picchu of Dagestan, is an abandoned mountain village perched at 1500 meters in the Caucasus Mountains. Founded over 2000 years ago, it became completely deserted in 2015 when its last resident passed away. Stone houses built into the rock, narrow streets, and breathtaking mountain panoramas create a unique atmosphere of mystery and beauty. Access requires a 1-2 hour uphill hike through stunning scenery, making it a rewarding adventure for those who make the journey.
