Füssen Old Town
Füssen Old Town is a charming medieval town at the end of the Romantic Road and gateway to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. The main street Reichenstraße features colourfully painted facades, cafes, shops, and references to the town's history. Parts of the medieval city wall remain, including the Powder Tower. The baroque St. Mang Monastery dates to the 8th century and now houses the town museum. The High Castle (Hohes Schloss) towers above the town and houses an art gallery. The famous Quaglio View from Franziskanerplatz is considered one of the most beautiful panoramas, painted by Italian artist Domenico Quaglio in the 19th century.
