Freddie Mercury Statue
A 3-meter bronze statue honoring Freddie Mercury, the legendary Queen frontman who lived and recorded in Montreux during his final years. The statue depicts Mercury in his iconic pose with fist raised to the sky, standing on the shores of Lake Geneva overlooking the mountains. Unveiled in 1996 at a ceremony attended by band members, it has become a pilgrimage site for Queen fans worldwide. The nearby Mountain Studios where Queen recorded several albums can be visited. Fresh flowers are regularly placed at the statue by devoted fans.
