Fort No. 5 King Frederick Wilhelm III
Fort No. 5 'King Frederick Wilhelm III' is a 19th-century military fortification turned museum telling the story of the April 1945 storming of Konigsberg. Located on the airport road, the fort features a water-filled moat, underground tunnels, casemates, and original defensive structures. The museum displays WWII-era photographs, documents, and military equipment including tanks and artillery in the outdoor area. It is the most visitor-friendly and best-developed of Kaliningrad's twelve forts, with clear exhibitions and an audio guide in English. Historical reenactments of the 1945 assault are occasionally staged in summer, bringing history vividly to life
