Farol da Barra (Barra Lighthouse)
Farol da Barra is one of the oldest lighthouses in the Americas, located within the Fort of Santo Antonio da Barra built in 1534. The site now houses the Nautical Museum of Bahia, displaying artifacts from the Portuguese seafaring era and the history of the slave trade. Visitors can climb the lighthouse for panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Bay of All Saints. The location is also one of the best spots in the city to watch the sunset, making it a popular destination for both history enthusiasts and romantic evening strolls.
