Faro Old Town
Faro Old Town, locally known as Vila Adentro or Cidade Velha, is the city's historic heart surrounded by ancient walls dating back to Roman times. This charming quarter features cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses, and peaceful squares lined with orange trees. Three historic gateways lead into the Old Town: the famous Arco da Vila, Arco da Porta Nova, and Arco do Repouso. Within the walls, you will find Faro Cathedral, the Municipal Museum, the Bishop's Palace, and several charming cafes.
