Elevador Lacerda
Elevador Lacerda is a historic urban elevator built between 1869 and 1873, connecting Salvador's Lower City to the Upper City. Rising 72 meters, it features four elevators carrying 27 passengers each in a journey lasting only 30 seconds. It is one of the city's most important landmarks and the most used daily transportation means. It provides wonderful views of the Bay of All Saints and the harbor when exiting the upper station, making it both a practical transport link and a tourist attraction.
