The towering El Pípila Monument stands atop Cerro de San Miguel, honoring Juan José de los Reyes Martínez, the heroic miner who set fire to the fortress gates during Mexico's War of Independence in 1810. The viewpoint offers spectacular panoramic views of the colorful city of Guanajuato below. Visitors can reach the monument via the panoramic funicular or by walking through winding alleyways.
