El Greco Museum
El Greco Museum is dedicated to the Greek-born painter Doménikos Theotokópoulos, known as El Greco (The Greek), who lived and worked in Toledo from 1577 until his death in 1614. Located in the historic Jewish Quarter next to the Synagogue of El Tránsito, the museum displays an excellent collection of the artist's works including the famous Apostles series and View of Toledo. The building itself, while not El Greco's actual home, recreates the atmosphere of a 16th-century Spanish house. First opened in 1911, the museum provides insight into Toledo's Golden Age artistic heritage.
