El Chato Reserve offers the unique experience of seeing Galapagos giant tortoises in their natural habitat, not in captivity. These ancient creatures weighing up to 250 kg and measuring 1.5 meters roam freely across 12 hectares of highland pastures. Visitors can get remarkably close to these gentle giants while maintaining respectful distance. The reserve also houses lava tunnels to explore, making it a perfect two-for-one visit. Rubber boots are provided as the ground is often muddy.
