Eger Basilica
The second largest church in Hungary after Esztergom Basilica, built between 1831 and 1836 by architect Jozsef Hild in neoclassical style. The facade features monumental statues of Hungarian saints King Istvan and King Laszlo by Venetian sculptor Marco Casagrande, plus apostles Peter and Paul. The interior dome fresco by Istvan Takacs depicts the Apocalypse. Daily organ concerts from May to October on a historic 1864 Ludvig Moser organ make this a living cultural venue, not just a monument
