Eagle Square (Dataran Lang)
Eagle Square is Langkawi's most iconic landmark, featuring a 12-meter-tall statue of a reddish-brown eagle poised for flight. The statue symbolizes the island's name — 'Langkawi' derives from 'Helang' (eagle) and 'Kawi' (reddish-brown). Located on the Kuah waterfront, the star-shaped square spans 19 acres of landscaped gardens with ponds, fountains, and footbridges. Recently underwent comprehensive renovation with new gardens, eco-friendly pathways, and sophisticated lighting. Perfect for sunset photography.
