Dutch Square (Stadthuys)
Dutch Square is the historical heart of Malacca, characterized by its distinctive red brick buildings constructed by the Dutch in 1650. The Stadthuys (town hall) is the oldest surviving Dutch building in the East, now housing the History and Ethnography Museum. The nearby Christ Church (1753) is Malaysia's oldest Protestant church. The Victorian fountain and decorated trishaws add charm to the area. The square is the center of Malacca's UNESCO World Heritage Site.
