Durban Botanic Gardens
Durban Botanic Gardens is Africa's oldest surviving botanic garden, established in 1849. Spanning 15 hectares, it houses an exceptional collection of cycads, palms, orchids, and tropical plants. Famous for its unique collection of endangered cycads (some dating back to the dinosaur era), the Orchid House, and a lake filled with waterfowl. Perfect for picnics, quiet walks, and bird watching. The Sunken Garden and Herb Garden are particularly beautiful. Entry is free.
