The Royal Family lives in the south wing which is not open to visitors. The state rooms and other areas are open for tours. You may occasionally see royal activities but not up close.
Yes! The 18th-century theater hosts opera and ballet performances in summer using original stage machinery. Book tickets well in advance as it only seats 400 and is very popular.
