Dolac Market
Dolac Market is Zagreb's largest and most famous open-air market, known as 'Zagreb's belly'. Located between Upper and Lower Town on a distinctive elevated terrace with its iconic red umbrellas, local farmers sell fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, local cheese, and spicy sausage (kulen). The covered underground level houses a fresh fish market. Operating since 1930, it is the perfect place to experience authentic Croatian food culture. Most vendors accept cash only (EUR since 2023), so bring small denomination bills. Saturday mornings are the busiest but most vibrant time to visit
