Desert View Watchtower
Desert View Watchtower is a stunning 70-foot stone tower designed by architect Mary Colter in 1932, inspired by prehistoric Pueblo watchtowers. Located on the eastern edge of the South Rim, it offers breathtaking views of the canyon, Colorado River, and surrounding desert. The interior murals were painted by Hopi artist Fred Kabotie depicting Native American legends. Climb the spiral staircase for 360-degree panoramic views from the highest point on the South Rim.
