A masterpiece of Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian rock art from the 9th-13th centuries. UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. Over 50,000 sculptures across 75 protected sites. Main sites are Baodingshan (religious scenes) and Beishan (elegant Buddhist statues). Unique place where three religions coexist on the same cliffs.

From Chongqing: high-speed train to Dazu South Station (大足南站) in 25-45 min, then bus or taxi 1 hour to Baodingshan. Or bus from Chenjiaping Bus Station 2+ hours (42-44 CNY). Taxi from Chongqing center ~1.5 hours.
Beishan also open evenings 19:30-23:00 for night viewing. Museum closed on Mondays.

If time for only one — Baodingshan. It has the most impressive carvings: 31m Reclining Buddha, Wheel of Samsara, 1000-armed Guanyin. Beishan is for refined sculpture enthusiasts.
Baodingshan: 3-4 hours. Both sites + museum: full day. Arrive early to see everything without rushing. Lots of stairs — comfortable shoes essential!

Start with Baodingshan — the main and most impressive site. Don't miss the 31m Reclining Buddha and Wheel of Samsara with realistic hell scenes.
Many stairs and climbs — wear comfortable non-slip shoes. In summer bring water, umbrella for sun. Spring and autumn are the best time to visit.

Dazu Museum near Baodingshan — included in ticket. Closed Mondays. Good place to rest in AC and learn the history.
