Daitoku-ji Temple
Daitoku-ji is a vast temple complex comprising 24 sub-temples and serves as the headquarters of the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism. It's considered one of the best places in Japan to experience Zen culture and Japanese rock gardens. Four sub-temples are open year-round: Daisen-in with its famous rock garden, Zuiho-in, Ryogen-in, and Koto-in. The complex is less crowded than other famous temples, allowing for a truly meditative experience.
