Dachstein Giant Ice Cave
The Dachstein Giant Ice Cave is one of the greatest natural wonders of the Alps featuring massive ice formations frozen waterfalls and impressive caverns. The cave stretches 2 kilometers long and contains 13000 cubic meters of ice reaching up to 20 meters thick in places. Temperature inside remains constant at minus 2 degrees Celsius year-round so dress warmly. Access requires a cable car ride to Schonbergalm station at 1350m elevation then a 15-20 minute walk.
