Cliffords Tower is the largest remaining part of York Castle, built by William the Conqueror in 1068. The unique quatrefoil stone tower stands on an artificial mound and offers panoramic views of York. A new interactive exhibition covers the castles dramatic royal history. Managed by English Heritage.
