Church of the Intercession on the Nerl
Masterpiece of 12th-century Russian white-stone architecture. Built in 1165 by Prince Andrey Bogolyubsky in memory of his deceased son. The first church in Russia dedicated to the Feast of the Intercession. Stands on an artificial hill at the confluence of the Nerl and Klyazma rivers. UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992 as part of 'White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal'.
