The Chora Church is a hidden gem in the Fatih district, housing the most celebrated Byzantine mosaics and frescoes in the world depicting scenes from the lives of Christ and the Virgin Mary. Though recently converted back into a mosque, it remains open to visitors and offers a quieter, more intimate alternative to Hagia Sophia.
