Chain Bridge

The Chain Bridge was the first permanent bridge connecting Buda and Pest, completed in 1849. Designed by English engineer William Tierney Clark, the 375-meter suspension bridge is a symbol of Budapest. Stone lions guard both ends. Fully renovated and reopened in 2023.
