Riga Central Market
Riga Central Market is the largest market in Europe housed in five massive pavilions that were originally World War I Zeppelin hangars. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with Old Riga since 1998. Hundreds of vendors offer fresh produce, smoked fish, rye bread, dairy products, meats, and local specialties. Each pavilion specializes in a specific product category. A farmers night market also operates. Best to arrive early as some stalls close before the official time. First Monday of each month is a sanitary day when pavilions are closed
